So there's a documentary coming out this summer about the Four Horsemen called "Some Kind of Monster" and guess who worked on it? That's right, ME! I had a very VERY minor role on this project, but I can say that I went in to it feeling pretty indifferent about Metallica and came out of it just loving them. My only complaint is that I became saddled with the poignant knowledge that being a rock star really IS the best job in the world. People other than Metallica fans should go see this movie - it's more about growing older and what it's like to be locked in to long-term relationships than music.
Chuck Klosterman, who, among other things, wrote an entertaining and serious (hard to fathom, I know) book about heavy metal called "Fargo Rock City", really nailed a lot of the amusing and uncomfortable elements of the film in this article: The New York Times > Magazine > Band on the Couch.
