from indiewire:
Joshua Marston's "Maria Full of Grace" reigned at the specialty box office last weekend, grossing the highest weekend pre-screen average for a non-documentary release since March!!!!
AND
Last week's box office topper "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster" along with Warner Independent Pictures' "Before Sunset" remained in the top tier!
Also, The New Yorker RAVED about Josh's movie:
Joshua Marston, a thirty-five-year-old N.Y.U. film-school graduate, nosed around Colombia and the Colombian neighborhoods of New York before beginning to shoot “Maria,” his first full-length feature. He did his homework and came up with one of the emblematic migration stories of our time. Marston would probably have made an interesting movie no matter how he had shot it, but the way he dramatized the material seems instinctively right: he goes detail by detail, emotion by emotion, eliding nothing, exaggerating nothing.
Enough about Josh already! I will write no more. But go see the movie!
In other good news, I just survived a dental appointment. Yup. That's the current excitement in my life.
Dear Sock... are you dead?
If so, could you donate your eyes to me? I like them.
If not, could you come to me every morning? I like to wake up and look into catwoman-eyes.
Merry Christmas!
Ciao!
Davide
P.S.: yes, you've got a boyfriend, I know, I know, but don't worry... I'm not jealous at all!
